Code of conduct

At Innovate MN, we are committed to creating a collaborative space where diverse ideas can flourish. To ensure a positive experience for all participants, we have established the following Code of Conduct.

Innovate MN Code of Conduct

Respect and Inclusivity:
  1. Respect for Diversity: Embrace all participants' diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. Discrimination or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.

  2. Inclusivity: Encourage and support the participation of all individuals, making sure every voice is heard and valued.

  3. Constructive Feedback: Offer feedback in a constructive manner, focusing on ideas and not individuals.

Collaboration and Engagement:
  1. Active Participation: Engage actively in discussions and activities, contributing your insights while also being receptive to others.

  2. Collaboration Over Competition: Foster a spirit of collaboration, not competition. The goal is to co-create solutions, not to outshine others.

  3. Confidentiality: Respect the confidentiality of shared information and ideas, especially when the presenter requests.

Professionalism and Courtesy:
  1. Professional Conduct: Maintain a professional demeanor in all interactions. This includes being punctual, prepared and focused during the sessions.

  2. No Solicitation: Refrain from using sessions for personal promotion or solicitation.

  3. Use of Technology: Use technology (like phones or laptops) respectfully, ensuring it does not disrupt the session or distract others.

Compliance and Reporting:
  1. Adherence to Guidelines: Follow the guidelines set by facilitators, including time allocations for discussions and activities.

  2. Reporting Concerns: If you witness or experience conduct that goes against our Code of Conduct, please promptly report it to a facilitator or Innovate MN staff member.

Open Idea Policy:
  1. Why: At Innovate MN, we believe in the free and open exchange of ideas. Ideas and solutions generated in public sessions are considered open-source and available for any participant to use and develop further.

  2. Legal Consideration: By participating, you acknowledge that any ideas you share in these public sessions are non-proprietary and may be freely used, developed, or modified by other participants. Innovate MN does not claim ownership of these ideas but does not provide any participant protection or exclusivity regarding the use of shared concepts.

Intellectual Property Considerations:
  1. Guidance: If you have an idea or concept that you consider proprietary or confidential, we recommend not sharing it in public sessions. Innovate MN is not responsible for protecting intellectual property shared in these forums.

Safe Space for Sharing:
  1. Commitment: Innovate MN is committed to creating a safe space for all participants, including companies and organizations that share challenges or ideas. We uphold a strict, non-judgmental policy where all contributions are valued and respected.

  2. Expectation: Participants are expected to uphold this principle, providing constructive feedback and fostering an environment of support and mutual respect. Disparagement, ridicule, or judgmental comments about any shared ideas or challenges will not be tolerated.

Encouraging Open Dialogue:
  1. Why: This approach encourages open and honest dialogue, ensuring that all participants feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and experiences. It's crucial for fostering a creative and collaborative atmosphere.

Consequences of Non-Compliance:

Non-compliance with this Code of Conduct may result in removal from the session, membership, and potential barring from future events.
